About this newsletter

What it’s like to work in a literature department at a small liberal arts college, according to Aaron Kunin. Drawings by David Scher.

Aaron is a poet and literature professor. His books include Love Three: A Study of a Poem by George Herbert (Wave Books, 2019) and Cold Genius: A Book of Poems (Fence Books, 2014).

David Scher’s work has been exhibited widely in the U.S. and internationally, and is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (NYC), the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of Art, among others. He is represented by Pierogi, NY and Ute Parduhn, Dusseldorf. His work represents all the good meanings of “weird.”

It all happened in the dark ages of 2018-2020. Incidentally you will see in this newsletter no resemblance to literature departments of today.
